Human PBMCs were stained with either Purified Mouse Anti-Human CD56 primary antibody (#136-00047, blue histogram), or mouse IgG isotype control (gray histogram), followed by AF 647 anti-mouse IgG/IgM secondary antibody.
Description
CD56 is a member of the Ig superfamily. The ~140 kDa isoform of CD56 is considered the prototypic cell surface marker on human NK and NKT cells. CD56 is also expressed in the brain (cerebellum and cortex) and at neuromuscular junctions, certain large granular lymphocyte (LGL) leukemias, small-cell lung carcinomas, neuronal derived tumors, myelomas, and myeloid leukemias. CD56 mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion via homophilic and heterophilic interactions, respectively, and plays a role in activating intracellular signaling pathways.
Recommended Usage
Each lot of antibody has been tested by flow cytometry staining. We suggest use €°¤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume of staining buffer. Researchers are recommended to further titrate this antibody at the optimal concentration for each specific application.
Storage / Stability
Keep the lyophilized antibodies at -20 °C. Once reconstituted with PBS, store at 2 °C - 8 °C for less than 3 weeks or freeze at -20°C for long term storage. Please limit freeze and thaw cycles.
